SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

A digital native and strategic communicator specialising in social media and digital channels. Problem solver, innovator and creator.
My experience has always been in digital channels with my career starting at Trade Me. I’ve worked for a web design agency creating websites and apps, then at ACC created NZ Government’s first full-service social media team. I’m particularly proud to have led the complete rewrite of ACC’s website, going from 10,000 pages to around 1,200 highly visited pages. In my time at ACC, I led the delivery of over 300 behaviour-change campaigns on digital channels. Since creating my own consulting and contracting business, I’ve worked with:
Ministry of Health, Ministry for the Environment, Ministry of Justice, Haines Attract, Habit, NIWA, Massey University, Hutt City Council, Porirua City Council, Rugby New Zealand, Te Ora – Māori Health Practitioners, Whāriki Maori Business Network, Oranga Tamariki, Internet NZ, Our Energy, Te Papa Venues and many more.
I am a Facebook Community Trainer for New Zealand.
Most recently, I led the digital communications for the All of Government response to COVID-19 for New Zealand.
I believe in the power of digital communication for good. I’m an advocate from ethical marketing and my approach to marketing and communications always starts with the audience.
BRAND AND MARKETING STRATEGIST
A deep thinker specialising in bespoke brand and marketing strategy.
As a seeker of social change and believer of cause, I am a true advocate for Social Marketing that is designed to create a significant social impact – ideas and strategies that are human-centered by design and balanced with hearts and smarts.
My career over the last decade has been leading and launching global brands & projects across Southern Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Some of my key impact projects included the alleviation of malnutrition amongst infants in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland and Mozambique; Iron Fortification in Infant Cereal to help reduce Anaemia globally; and Cooking Education programmes at schools across New Zealand and Australia to endorse healthier food choices.
I then pursued more projects with purpose which led me to Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children, working on social media and digital strategy, with a focus on brand positioning and communication. Most recently, I led social media for the COVID-19 Vaccine & Immunisation Programme at the Ministry of Health.
I believe the world needs more ideas that make a meaningful social difference and that creative strategy and problem solving can create this change, because good business is the business of doing good.
